This partnership marks the beginning of a new phase as we double down on our mission to make course creation and selling in WordPress simple, powerful, and delightful.
How This Partnership Came to Life
We started ThemeGrill back in 2014, and it’s been over a decade of building WordPress products as a fully bootstrapped company. We’ve always been profitable and financially stable, but after 10 years, we were ready to take things to the next level. We wanted to grow faster by working with partners who could bring fresh perspectives and strengths to our journey.
I had been exploring such opportunities for over a year, especially for products like Masteriyo. Around the same time, I received an email from Ionut, the founder of Themeisle, expressing his interest in Masteriyo. That led to a few emails, some calls, and eventually a face-to-face meeting during WordCamp Europe 2024. We both felt positive about the collaboration, but since it was our first such partnership, we took our time to carefully evaluate everything. Once we made the decision, we committed fully — and now, here we are.
I’ve known Ionut for almost 10 years now — long before this collaboration. Over the years, I’ve reached out to him multiple times for advice on business planning and strategy, and he’s always been generous with his time and insights. His suggestions have often helped shape key decisions for us.
This long-term trust and mutual respect made it much easier to move forward with this partnership. I truly trust both him and Themeisle, and I’m genuinely excited to now be working alongside them.
